"You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand"

When Jesus was washing His disciples' feet, Simon Peter could not believe that the Lord was about to wash his feet. He could not believe Jesus was actually taking such a lowly service. When he actually asked Jesus if indeed He was going to wash his feet, Jesus replied, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand," (John 13:7).

Sometimes Jesus will do things through that you may not even understand. He may direct you to do things you do not understand yourself. Sometimes He may lead you on uncomfortable grounds, that you may feel lost, lonely and rejected. Sometimes people may even think you are going crazy. Sometimes you may even ask Him "Why this Lord?" You may even ask yourself if you should be really doing that. When you listen carefully, He will be right there with you saying, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand."

My friend, if you really know that the Lord is leading you to do what you are doing, just obey. He is actually taking you to another chapter of the book that He authored long before the foundations of the earth were laid. If you call Him Lord, just do what He says. Keep your eyes fixed on Him. "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God," (Hebrews 12:2).

You may not realize what the Lord is doing in your life at the moment, but walk in faith and you will understand why he is doing what he is doing!
